Social media architecture
I like the way Teemu Arina visualizes how the different social media services are linked to each others. It makes sharing very effective: people can choose where they follow e.g. the new blog posts of their contacts: in Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, feed reader... With help of these bot tools we dont need to inform about the new content (status updates, blog entries, photos, videos, bookmarks...) in all of these places. I am using Twitterfeed to help me with Mini treasures wiki - it generates tweets from wiki updates, blog entries and Facebook updates. I could still add feeds from Flickr group pool updates and Youtube actions. Maybe some day...
BTW I am thrilled about my new phone N900 - browsing the net is so simple with it, e.g. this blog entry is created with it.

Adding RSS feed to any web page
First you have learnt to use RSS feeds and then you realize that not all your favorite pages provide one. :P
No worries, there is helping solution for you: Feed43 . I tried adding a page but to be honest the service was not that easy to use - before adding a feed I need to study more, e.g. the step-by-step tutorial which I will do later.

3 reasons for choosing feeds instead of emails @ work
Some weeks ago I listed 22 problems with emails and said that some of them can be solved with RSS feeds. How?
Freedom: You can choose which feeds you subscribe while you can only choose some of your email delivery lists, others are given and some of them you can never leave because they are based on your organization not based your interest. So while emails are sometimes spam feeds should not be. Keeping the delivery lists up-to-date is taking a lot of time (can you add me to your list? and my team too? please remove me from the list! just add me back after my holidays) while with feeds the receivers do the same work.
Openness: When you receive an email that is sent to hundreads of people you can´t know what the other receivers think about it. It is not acceptable to use reply all feature but one replies only to the sender and then the sender might get the same question over and over again. If the same message is e.g. blogged receivers can see the comments posted by other readers and they don´t need to ask something that is already answered. And it´s not only comments - readers can sometimes contribute by voting or giving points to good entry.
Saved disk space: People are archiving their emails (and it might be difficult to find them again depending on the folder structures) - the same 1 MB email might be saved by thousands of people. The feeds from wiki pages or blogs are saved in one place (and if the writers are using categories and tags they can be also easily found afterwards).
PS. The summer vacation period has started in Finland so I wish you nice&relaxing vacation and when you go back to the office think about your communication. Could you do it better?

Blogging and Blogilista
After 7 blog entries it's time to promote this blog to readers (I don't want to be one of those persons who put up a blog, writes the first entry, tells the world about it and then never go back). Starting a blog is easy, all you need is a name and idea about the topics you want to include (adding topics afterwards is easy too but it is good to think about this already from the beginning).
I started blogging 4 years ago and now I have several of them. For close friends and family I have blogs about my private life and sharing the pictures of kids (I don't want put our faces to Internet, not even to FACEbook). Then I have blogs about my hobbies (from public Share on Ovi photo-blog to semi-public Yahoo's 360 blog) and my work related blogs: Hidden treasure in Nokia's intranet and Hidden treasure 2.0 here.
Why do I have so many blogs? Because the audiences are different: my friends might not be interested about my hobbies, my colleagues might not like to watch my kids playing in the snow and only part of my hobby friends are carried away about web2.0. I also need to keep Nokia confidential information inside the company, that's not to be shared in Internet. So I can't tease my contacts by putting all fruits in the same basket - I let them to choose the apples and berries they find tasty. That's the nice thing about RSS feeds: the reader makes the decisions.
So where do I find the eaters for my juicy web2.0 stuff? As I come from Finland the obvious answer is Blogilista. I just added my blog there. In web20 category there were 11 blogs, in web2 64 (I need to check those blogs and start networking with the interesting ones). Blogilista is the place where you can find the blogs about the subject that you are interested, there is something for everyone, the variety is huge! You might use Blogilista as a feedreader service too.
